In my current position at the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, my mindset has always been that I am a servant to the membership. I will carry that forward as your representative in Ward 10 and be accountable and accessible to you.
Regina Residents First
Over the last several years I have personally witnessed municipal and provincial taxpayer-funded construction projects be awarded to contractors and workers outside of our city, and even our province or country. I will push for a Community Benefits Agreement where municipal taxpayer-funded projects employ Regina contractors and qualified Regina residents first.
Sports and Recreation
Sports and recreation help builds stronger, healthier, and happier and communities with strong social bonds. I enjoy sports myself, and as your city councillor, I will advocate for investment in these vital services.
Drug Enforcement and Treatment
The opioid crisis is real. Our city had 450 overdoses in the first six months of 2020. The weight of this problem hit home last year after someone I knew since childhood died from an overdose. We need to look at prevention, increase mental health, and facilitate easier access to drug and alcohol treatment. Provincial and municipal cooperation is needed to coordinate our efforts. As councillor of Ward 10, I will work hard to make a difference with the Community Wellbeing and Public Safety strategy.
